No, the dentist isn't the most appropriate way to ring in the New Year. While I may not be able to chew and end up with champagne dribbling down my chin, I plan to enter 2009 with a big grin on my face.
2008 has been a year for the history books. I resigned from a job, worked in two restaurants (no, make that three), was completely unemployed, serendipitously stumbled upon a new career, made some awesome new friends, grew closer to some old ones, discovered new hobbies and developed real adult relationships with my parents. Had some memorable (and some not so memorable) dates. Learned to appreciate how very, very lucky I am. In short, I have been to hell and back and I'm stronger for it. I've landed on my feet and am in a good place.
Thank you to everyone who was a piece of my 2008. For better or worse, you made it what it was: a very full year. Things can only get better!
And thanks to everyone who reads this blog- my little corner of catharsis! I appreciate your encouragement and comments, and wish you all the best for 2009!
Happy New Year!
